Crypto custodian BITGO has just announced it intends to support the Near Protocol network by offering institutional-grade digital asset storage services to the project's ecosystem, The Block has reported.
From now on, companies will be able to bet NEAR directly from a BitGo wallet with just a few clicks.
Near Foundation, the non-profit organization behind the development of the ecosystem, will place part of its own treasury assets on the escrow platform.
Nuri Chang, vice president of product at BitGo, has said the partnership will allow developers of projects such as exchanges and protocols to integrate NEAR support with the company's software wallets.
He has added:
"We’re also building BitGo staking support for NEAR in and of itself. What that means is clients can stake NEAR directly from a BitGo wallet with literally a few clicks."
Near Foundation CEO Marieke Flament has said the partnership is proof of the project's commitment to expanding the ecosystem.
