The Input Output Global (IOG) team successfully activated the Vasil update on the Cardano mainnet on September 23.
As reported by the project developers, some changes will come into effect with the start of the new era, next September 27.
IOG has reported:
"The Vasil upgrade will bring significant performance & capability enhancements to Cardano, from higher throughput capability via diffusion pipelining to a better developer experience with much improved script performance, efficiency & lower costs."
According to data provided by Cardanoscan, the project's network is operating normally and producing blocks. Ecosystem participants have reported that after the activation of the update, the blockchain passed stress tests.
With Vasil, the developers have introduced the second version of Plutus scripts on the blockchain.
