Decentralized cross-chain exchange Transit Swap, which suffered a hacker attack earlier this month, has reported it has reached an agreement with the attacker to return BNB 10,000 ($2.74 million).

According to PeckShield, BNB 6,500 ($1.79 million) has already been deposited into the platform's wallet.

The Transit Swap developers have allowed the hacker to keep BNB 2,500 or $686,000 as a reward for discovering the vulnerability that enabled the attack.

According to Etherscan, last October 10, these funds were sent to crypto mixer Tornado Cash, which has previously been sanctioned by the US Treasury Department.

If the remaining 3,500 BNB are returned, the exchange promises not to initiate criminal proceedings against the hacker.

Last October 2, an unknown person exploited a bug in the Transit Swap smart contract and stole $21 million of users' funds.
