BitKeep Wallet, a decentralized finance (DeFi) wallet, has suffered a hacker attack, resulting in a loss of around $1 million.
The wallet wrote in a Twitter thread that the development team has managed to contain the emergency and stopped the hacker. The attack was targeting funds in the BNB Chain (formerly BINANCE Smart Chain), the team added.
Following the attack, the team suspended BitKeep Swap service to ensure that there are "no further asset security issues." BitKeep has called on users to assist in identifying the hackers and recovering the stolen assets. It is unclear, how exactly the attacker stole the funds.
