Cardano Foundation Names Giorgio Zinetti CTO to Boost Open Source

The Cardano Foundation, headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, and responsible for the cryptocurrency ADA, has announced the appointment of Giorgio Zinetti as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO). 

This initiative highlights the Foundation’s dedication to steering Cardano through its next phase of growth and innovation in the blockchain sector.

Cardano Names New Chief Technology Officer

As the newly appointed CTO, Giorgio Zinetti a technology development and strategic planning background to the Cardano Foundation. His role will focus on expanding Cardano’s product offerings and enhancing its open-source technology to develop blockchain solutions.

Frederik Gregaard, the CEO of the Cardano Foundation, expressed enthusiasm about Zinetti’s appointment, noting it as a milestone for the organization.

“Adding Giorgio to the executive team as our first CTO is a significant milestone for the Foundation that marks our commitment to technical excellence. His experience and expertise will support us in our mission to increase the adoption of blockchain solutions that can both enhance the nature of trust and be the basis for new applications, industries, and economies,” Gregaard stated. 

Before joining the Cardano Foundation, Giorgio Zinetti co-founded and served as CTO at Procivis AG, a government identity solutions provider. He also has experience as a Software Engineer at UBS, one of the world’s leading investment banks. With a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Zinetti has developed technological solutions, leading teams across various sectors.

The Cardano Foundation’s decision to bring Zinetti on board reflects its strategic focus on strengthening its technical leadership to navigate the blockchain industry and leverage emerging opportunities for growth and innovation.
