Disgraced founder of the bankrupt FTX crypto exchange, Sam Bankman-Fried, has agreed to be extradited to the United States to face fraud charges, Reuters has learned, citing his lawyer.

According to the affidavit, Bankman-Fried wants to return to the US to make "the relevant customers whole." Bankman-Fried himself told the judge during a hearing in a court:

"Yes, I do wish to waive my right to such formal extradition proceedings."

Reuters noted — citing sources — that US officials with the FBI and the US Marshals Service have already arrived in Nassau. It's unclear when exactly Bankman-Fried would be extradited to New York.

In the US, Bankman-Fried is facing charges related to wire and securities fraud, money laundering and others from the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, the CFTC and the SEC.
